Launch of Virtual Reality Badging Programme
SkillsVR has further developed our partnership with the Ministry of Social Development (MSD) to launch a new digital certification system to support New Zealanders seeking employment.
The enhanced VR training program now offers job seekers digital badges for their CVs, showcasing their learning records and achievements. This initiative makes it easier for employers to recognise candidates' strengths and skills and understand the roles they may be best suited for.
On October 7th 2024, the Minister for Social Development, Hon Louise Upston, launched the badge system, linking virtual reality learning to job seeker CVs.

Innovative employment initiatives and partnerships with the private sector are essential for New Zealand to meet the Government's goal of reducing the number of people on Jobseeker Support by 50,000 by 2030.
“It gives us great pride to deliver the next iteration of our Empowering Futures project which aims to help change peoples lives in a time that many people are struggling to find meaningful employment.
We believe highlighting individuals employability skills with industry-recognised credentials will not only boost people's employability but will go a long way to enhance how they feel about themselves and build self confidence.”
says SkillsVR CEO James Coddington.
